Color Guide for Fish HotSpots
BASS is red
CATFISH is green
CRAPPIE is blue
BLUEGILL is yellow
WALLEYE is purple
Fishing a jig for bass around docks
and brush is a sure way to find bass
up to 5 lbs.  Catfish hang out with the
bluegill around the weed beds and
come in at 2-5 lbs.  In the spring when
the water is running catfish can be
found towards the north end.  The
bluegill are small but are still fun.

I do not have a pattern on crappie but I
have caught several good sized ones
here.

I have been catching a lot of bass and catfish out of the here as of late.  I have also seen a lot of big fish being
pulled out from other fishermen.  First, a word of caution - I have seen 6 snakes near the banks that are moving
around after the heavy rains.  I stepped on one without even knowing it.  Now that I have said that, lets talk
patterns.

The Bass are biting on Rat-L-Trap type baits in the deeper (South) end of the reservoir.  I caught 2 bass on one
Rat-L-Trap the other day - 18" and a 13" (second time ever and both times at this reservoir) Try working any and
all structure.  In the shallower water (north end) use  spinner bait and work all the flooded brush.  The fish are
either spawning or getting ready for it so cover as much water as you can!

The Catfish are just all over.  I like to catch them towards the north end but I have seen others catching them
around the dam and water tower.  If you want a little challenge try walking the Nature Trail until you reach the
creek and catch some fish there.  I have had good luck on worms from my garden, no need to buy any this time
of year.  Spend five minutes outside and dig up your own. I like to fish with a bobber for catfish and keep the
bait just off the bottom.

Good Luck!
